On March 18, 2024, the new issue of the All-Ukrainian periodical printed publication “Ukraine Business Review” was published. On the pages of the issue, with the involvement of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, an article was published dedicated to the Turkmen city of Anau entitled “Anau - the birthplace of the ancient culture of the Turkmen land.”
As it is known, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) proclaimed the ancient city of Anau in 2024 as the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World”. Turkmenistan and TURKSOY have prepared rich program of events aimed at promoting the cultural significance of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau.
The article emphasizes the cultural and historical significance of the priceless heritage of the city Anau, the history of which goes back more than seven thousand years. The focus is on the mosque of the Sheikh Seyit Jemal ad-Din, built in the middle of the15th century. Unique discoveries of traces of ancient settlements on the territory of Anau and various artifacts, the age ofwhich is more than one thousand years old, indicating that the civilization of Anau was one of the developed in the territory of Central Asia in ancient times.
The ancient artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations are stored in the National Museum “Ak Bugday” in the city of Anau.
