On April 16, 2024, an international scientific conference dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi was held in the Yessenov University on the theme "Spiritual heritage of Magtymguly Fragi - symbol of friendship and peace".
The organizers of the conference were the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Aktau and the Yessenov University.
Deputy governor of Mangistau region Z.Yesenbergenov, President of the Yessenov University B.Akhmetov, representatives of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, teachers of IRI Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, researchers of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, employees of the diplomatic corps accredited in Aktau, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, famous historians, poets and writers of the Mangystau region, teaching staff of the Yessenov University took part in the conference.
Within the framework of the conference, an exhibition of works of art of Turkmenistan with exhibits of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan was organized. Folk crafts of the Turkmen people, jewelry and textiles, national clothing, and Turkmen carpets were presented to the attention of many at the exhibition.
The scientific conference was opened by the President of the Yessenov University B.Akhmetov. During the welcoming speech, the deputy head of the Mangystau region Z.Yesenbergenova noted that brotherly countries are united not only by common values, but also by established permanent cultural dialogue, which brings mutual enrichment and inspiration.
In turn, the Consul of Turkmenistan M.Abdyllayev announced that the year 2024 was declared in Turkmenistan as the "Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi", and emphasized that the literary heritage of the great poet has become an invaluable treasure of world art and has served to enrich the spiritual world of mankind.
In addition, the Consul announced that this year a monument to the great Magtymguly Fragi was erected in Astana, and in Ashgabat - Abai Qunanbaiuly.
During the conference, a report on the creative heritage of the poet, his spiritual and worldview aspects, as well as read poems were heard.
Summing up the work of the International scientific conference, the President of the University emphasized that this event will make a significant contribution to the strengthening of relations between the two countries.
