From April 22, 2024, the Turkmen delegation has been visiting the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation to participate in the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi.
At the beginning of the visit, the delegation of Turkmenistan, led by the Deputy Minister of education of Turkmenistan A.Amanov, laid flowers at the monument to Magtymguly Fragi, located in the park opposite the Astrakhan State University named after V.N.Tatishchev.
Members of the Turkmen delegation, the Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan G.Ilamanov, the Minister of education of the Astrakhan region M.Shalak and students from Turkmenistan studying at Astrakhan State University took part in laying flowers.
Then members of the delegation took part in the opening of the Magtymguly Fragi Museum on the territory of a Turkmen school in the village of Funtovo, Astrakhan region and donated valuable exhibits to the museum, which presented the poet’s books, paintings with his image, as well as national Turkmen musical instruments, items of rural life and crafts. Also, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Turkmen classic, an exhibition of drawings and a creative competition on the theme “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi” were held among school students.
