On April 22, 2024, a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Turkmen-French archaeological mission (MAFTUR) for the study of ancient cultural monuments of Turkmenistan was held in Paris, at the Museum of Mankind.
During the forum, important aspects of the study and popularization of the ancient history and rich culture of Turkmenistan, which received global recognition thanks to the policy of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, were discussed.
Speakers at the conference highly appreciated the importance of the book of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Anau - culture from the depths of millennia,” which revealed the glorious history of the city of Anau, architectural monuments, and research carried out by famous scientists.
Along with the scientific and practical conference, from April 22 to April 26, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France, together with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, organized the exhibition “Magtymguly Fragi and the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan” at the UNESCO headquarters.
The exhibition was attended by UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture Ernesto Ottone Ramirez, for Communication and Information Tawfik Jelassi, for Administration and Management Nicholas Jeffreys, a number of heads of UNESCO divisions and departments, as well as Ambassadors, Permanent Representatives of countries to UNESCO, representatives of the Ministry of Europe and foreign affairs of France.
The exhibition presented the fundamental works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, collections of poems by Magtymguly Fragi in various languages of the world, books and magazines about modern Turkmenistan, as well as examples of national decorative, applied and artistic arts.
The exhibition also featured works by contemporary artists, photo selections and videos demonstrating the life of today's Turkmenistan, its historical monuments, nature, architectural sights of Ashgabat, and also featured a display of a collection of national costumes.
As part of the program of events, on April 24, 2024, a concert of masters of culture and art of Turkmenistan was held in the main conference hall of UNESCO headquarters.
