On May 20, 2024, a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia D.Seyitmammedov and the Prime Minister of Georgia I.Kobakhidze.
The parties noted with satisfaction the active growth of Turkmen-Georgian relations and the positive experience of multilateral interaction within the framework of authoritative international and regional organizations. The sides expressed interest in organizing mutual visits at the highest level.
During the meeting, the state and prospects of economic relations, the development of interaction in industry, transport, the fuel and energy sector, and the cultural and humanitarian sphere were also discussed. The role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation in the context of the further development of trade relations was especially emphasized.
The Ambassador briefed the Prime Minister on the events on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, which are taking place in Turkmenistan and abroad. In this regard, it was emphasized that on May 17 of this year, with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, monuments to the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, as well as poets and thinkers of other countries, including the monument to the great Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli, were unveiled in the cultural and park complex "Magtymguly Fragi".
The Ambassador, taking advantage of the opportunity provided, invited I.Kobakhidze to the Summit at the level of heads of government and state, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, which will be held in October 2024 in Ashgabat.
I.Kobakhidze expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the invitation, as well as for the implemented initiative, noting that the opening of the monument to Shota Rustaveli will help strengthen cultural ties between the two countries and peoples.
