On May 28, 2024, a delegation of Turkmenistan representing the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annaev, visited the city of Wilmore, Kentucky, USA, in order to establish cooperation with Asbury University.
The delegation included the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States Meret Orazov, the vice-rector of the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annaev Seyitmyrat Atayev, as well as horse breeder and trainer Aman Bashimov.
During the visit, the delegation of Turkmenistan negotiated with Asbury University President Kevin Brown, Provost Sherry Powers, Equine Program Director Harold Rainwater, Dr. Vince Sutlive and other representatives of the university. The main topic of the negotiations was the development of cooperation in various areas of the horse breeding industry, including the development of a memorandum of mutual understanding between two institutions, the exchange of academic curricula, and the organization of internships.
The delegation of Turkmenistan also invited the management of Asbury University to visit Turkmenistan, which indicates intentions to develop international partnerships. After the meetings, the delegation of Turkmenistan was given a tour of the Asbury University Equine Center.
On May 29, 2024, representatives of the delegation of Turkmenistan visited the famous Kentucky Horse Park and the American Saddlebred Museum, where they were acquainted with exhibits, trophies, harnesses and works of art.
