On May 31, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Türkiye organized a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi in the central park of the city of Yozgat.
The heads of the province and the mayor’s office of the city of Yozgat, representatives of public organizations of Türkiye, the mass media and students studying in Türkiye, attended the event.
After the flower-laying ceremony, a scientific conference dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi was held in the conference Hall of Bozok University.
The Governor of Yozgat Province Mehmet Ali Ozkan, the Mayor of Yozgat Kazim Arslan, the Rector of Bozok University Erven Yasar, the academic staff and students, attended the conference.
The speakers emphasized that the inclusion of the collection of manuscripts of the Turkmen philosopher and poet Magtymguly Fragi in the International Memory of the World List and the inclusion of his 300th anniversary in the UNESCO List of Memorable Dates confirms that the poetic legacy of Magtymguly Fragi is of great importance for world culture.
As part of the event, an exhibition of works by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, books by Magtymguly Fragi, as well as works of decorative and applied art of the Turkmen people was displayed in the foyer of Bozok University.
