On September 24, 2024, Ankara hosted a scientific and practical conference "Independence of Turkmenistan: Prospects for the Development of International Cooperation" dedicated to the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan and the regular meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey and the Eurasian Association of Economic Relations (EkoAvrasya).
The conference was attended by heads of several ministries and departments of Turkey, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and socio-political organizations, the creative and scientific community, the Turkmen diaspora, student youth and the media.
The participants of the scientific conference were familiarized in detail with the successes of Turkmenistan achieved over the years of independence in various fields. The international events taking place in Turkmenistan were covered in detail, including preparations for the upcoming International Forum in Ashgabat in October this year dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fragi's birth "The Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of the Modern World and Development".
Also, during the conference, the importance of the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was noted, during which priority tasks and a work plan for the coming year were identified. It was emphasized that the national assembly considered socio-economic issues aimed at strengthening the well-being of citizens and improving the legislative framework of Turkmenistan.
In addition, the speakers who spoke at the conference analyzed the current state and prospects for the development of Turkmen-Turkish relations. It was noted that cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey is marked by a high level of interstate dialogue and is invariably characterized by mutual support and trust in the international arena. As part of the event, a video was shown about Turkmenistan’s achievements over the years of independence.
