On October 2, 2024, the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, together with the permanent missions of the countries of Central Asia, organized a side event on the topic «Human Rights and the Right to Development» within the framework of the 57th session of the Human Rights Council.
Permanent representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of international organizations and experts in the field of human rights attended the event.
In his speech, the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Geneva Office V.Hajiyev emphasized the importance of the right to development as a fundamental element of human rights. It was also noted that Turkmenistan is implementing national programs aimed at improving the quality of life of the population.
