On 17 October 2024, the Caspian Institute of Marine and River Transport named after Admiral General F.M. Apraksin (Astrakhan) hosted a literary and musical evening dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi. The event was organized by the Institute together with the Turkmen school named after Magtymguly Fragi in the village of Funtovo, Astrakhan region, with the support of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan).
The event was attended by diplomats of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan, representatives of the Ministry of External Relations of Astrakhan region, representatives of the administration and students of the Caspian Institute of Marine and River Transport, director, teachers and students of the school named after Magtymguly Fragi.
In her welcoming speech, Director of the Caspian Marine and River Transport Institute named after Admiral General F.M. Apraksin O. Kartashova emphasized the importance of preserving and developing scientific and educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and Astrakhan region.
The speakers stressed the importance of opening a secondary school named after Magtymguly Fragi in Astrakhan region on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, and noted the deep content of works by Magtymguly Fragi, which absorbed centuries-old wisdom and beauty of the poetic language of the Turkmen people.
During the concert, students from Turkmenistan studying at the Caspian Sea and River Transport Institute and pupils of the Magtymguly school presented musical and dance numbers to the guests of the event. Famous literary works of the poet were read out. The literary and musical evening ended with a national dance «Kushtdepdi» performed by the dance group «Dostluk».
