On February 25, 2025, the Tajik National University hosted an event dedicated to the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, as well as the presentation of the new book “Magtymguly – the Sage of the World” of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The event, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tajikistan, was attended by UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan Parvathy Ramaswami, representatives of the Writers’ Union of Tajikistan and the Tajik Society for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, leadership, faculty members and students of the Tajik National University, as well as mass media representatives.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tajikistan A. Gochmyradov, UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan P.Ramaswami, First Deputy Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Tajikistan A.Mirhoja, Chairman of the Commission on Parliamentary Ethics of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlis Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan F. Barotzoda, member of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, candidate of philosophical sciences M. Asrori, Head of the Department of Diplomacy of the University F. Salaimov, as well as the 5th year student of the University A. Akhmedova gave speeches at the event.
Vice-Rector of the Tajik National University B. Safarmorad emphasized in his speech that it was a great honor for the University to hold such a significant event timed to coincide with the presentation of the new book of the President of Turkmenistan and the International Year of Peace and Trust. He also expressed readiness to further expand cooperation with Turkmenistan in science and education.
Ambassador A. Gochmyradov thoroughly described the content of the book of the President of Turkmenistan “Magtymguly – the Sage of the World”, emphasizing the importance of the poet’s work in attaining the principles of peace and trust.
UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan P.Ramaswami emphasized in her speech that the proclamation of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” initiated by Turkmenistan and supported by 86 countries serves as a proof of the country’s commitment to strengthening peace, trust and international cooperation at the global level.
As part of the event, the participants got acquainted with a special exhibition organized at the University. A special place at the exhibition was given to the books of the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the President of Turkmenistan. A number of books was donated to the library of the University.
On the same day, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan met with the Vice-Rectors of the University B. Safarmorad and I. Gafforzoda to discuss the prospects of cooperation in science and education.
