The diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan held sports events on the occasion of World Health Day
On 3 April 2026, sports events dedicated to the motto of 2026 — “Independent, permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of purposeful heavenly horses” — as well as to World Health Day, were held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kyrgyz Republic.
As part of the event, competitions in chess, checkers and table tennis were organized. Representatives of the Turkmen diaspora residing in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as students from Turkmenistan studying at higher educational institutions in Bishkek, took part in the competitions.
During the event, it was noted that the development of physical culture and sports, as well as the creation of conditions for young people to lead a healthy lifestyle, are among the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s state policy, consistently implemented under the leadership of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The participants of the event emphasized the importance of holding such competitions, which contribute to the promotion of sports, the active involvement of young people in physical culture, as well as their physical and spiritual development.

On April 5, 2026, a football tournament organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkiye took place in Ankara. The event was dedicated to the motto of 2026, “Independent permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of purposeful heavenly horses”, and the celebration of World Health Day.
The tournament was attended by members of the fan club of the "Arkadag" football club, as well as students studying in Türkiye. This sports event became another contribution to strengthening cultural and sports ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkiye, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle among the youth.
During the tournament, participants demonstrated not only excellent sports skills but also team spirit. The tournament ended with a bright final, which left unforgettable impressions on the spectators.
At the end of the event, participants were presented with commemorative gifts on behalf of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkiye.

In anticipation of World Health Day the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine organized “Health Week,” which included a series of sports and fitness events aimed at promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among young people and compatriots abroad.
As part of this initiative, a mini-football tournament, a track and field race along one of Kyiv’s modern tourist routes and historic alleys, as well as weightlifting and arm wrestling competitions, were held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan for Turkmen students and representatives of the diaspora in Ukraine. The program was complemented by intellectual competitions – a chess and a checkers tournament – highlighting the youth’s commitment to well-rounded development, combining physical activity with intellectual growth.
The events were held in an atmosphere of friendship, mutual respect, and unity. Despite the competitive format, their main outcome was the strengthening of solidarity, the development of lasting motivation for a healthy lifestyle, and the promotion of active living.
Health Week was particularly significant as it took place during the year celebrated in Turkmenistan under the motto “Independent, permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of purposeful heavenly horses”. Participants noted that the values embodied in this motto – determination, fortitude, forward movement, and the pursuit of excellence – are reflected in their daily lives, including in sports and self-improvement.
