A cultural and musical evening featuring masters of culture and art of Turkmenistan was held in Paris

On April 6, 2026, a cultural and musical event took place at the concert hall of the Théâtre de l’Opprimé in Paris. The event was dedicated to the motto of 2026: “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan - Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses,” as well as to the celebration of the national holiday Nowruz Bayram.

The event was organized by the cultural association “Destan” in partnership with the Théâtre de l’Opprimé, with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France. Representatives of culture and art, as well as residents and guests of Paris interested in the rich cultural heritage of Turkmenistan, attended the event.

The creative evening program, consisting of two parts, was aimed at presenting the rich musical traditions of the Turkmen people and strengthening intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding.

The first part of the program featured performances from the traditional repertoire of bakhshi. Compositions based on epic and lyrical Turkmen works were masterfully performed on national musical instruments such as the dutar, gyjak, gargy tuyduk, dilli tuyduk, and gopuz.

The second part was devoted to the presentation of traditional musical instruments and a creative dialogue with the musicians. Guests had the opportunity to learn about the path of becoming a musician in Turkmen culture and to ask questions. Special attention was given to the continuity of musical traditions, as the members of the delegation are also lecturers at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva.

In the final part of the event, an exhibition was organized featuring elements of the country’s cultural heritage, including carpets, decorative and applied arts, and national musical instruments. The event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, serving as a vivid example of cultural exchange and contributing to the further strengthening of humanitarian ties between nations.

The musical performances of the masters of culture of Turkmenistan continue.
