Turkmen Delegation Meets with the President of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies

On May 11, 2026, a meeting was held in Tokyo between the Turkmen delegation and the President of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Nobuo Haruna. The Turkmen side was represented by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, A. Bayramov, and the Vice-Rector of the International University for the Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan, N. Shykhlyyev.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture, as well as issues related to academic exchange programs for students and teachers. Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in foreign language studies and organizing educational programs between the higher educational institutions of the two countries.

The sides also emphasized the importance of exploring the experience and capabilities of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in implementing joint projects and conducting scientific research.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence in the continued successful development of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the humanitarian and educational spheres.
