Turkmenistan aims to reach British markets through New B2B Exchange Platform in London
On May 11, 2026, a multiprofile business mission, bringing together representatives of the private sectors of Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom, began its work at the West London Chambers of Commerce headquarters in London. The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan jointly with British partners and with the active support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, is aimed at the practical implementation of the foreign economic policy of the President of Turkmenistan aimed at the expansion of the export potential of national private sector.
The Turkmen delegation included representatives of 20 leading companies. More than 40 British entities expressed interest in cooperation, including global industry leaders such as Shell, Range Rover, and Primark, as well as respected academic institutions such as Cambridge University and Brunel University.
The official opening ceremony began with a welcome address by Alan Rides, CEO of the West London Chamber of Commerce, who emphasized the importance of strengthening business ties between Turkmenistan and the UK and noted the strong interest of British businesses in the Central Asian market. During this week, British companies will consider the issues of visiting Turkmenistan to establish closer contacts between the business communities of both countries.
The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Mergen Gurdov also delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation for developing the country’s private sector and promoting Turkmen products in foreign markets. Following the opening ceremony, brief presentations were given on key areas of cooperation.
The focus was on the agrifood sector, textile industry, education, tourism, and construction.
In the afternoon, off-site visits were organized for business mission participants. During the week, they will participate in a series of B2B meetings, industry talks, and business visits aimed at establishing new partnerships and developing trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the UK.
