Event dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan held in Tashkent
A cultural and educational event dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers”.
The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, faculty members and students of the university, as well as Turkmen students studying at higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Meredov and Rector of the University B. Mirzayev. In their speeches, they highlighted the significance of independence for the sustainable development of both states, the high level of Turkmen-Uzbek relations based on the principles of good-neighborliness, mutual respect and strategic partnership, as well as the important role of youth in strengthening friendship between the two brotherly peoples.
As part of the event, a concert programme featuring students was presented. Musical performances in the Turkmen and Uzbek languages dedicated to independence, peace, friendship and the rich cultural heritage of the two countries were performed.
On behalf of Turkmen students studying in Uzbekistan, the young participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for their constant care for the younger generation, for creating broad opportunities to receive quality education abroad, and for the state policy aimed at the comprehensive development of youth.
The event was held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual respect and became another testament to the progressive development of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation in the fields of education, culture and humanitarian affairs.
