Ambassador of Turkmenistan meets with the Director General of UNIDO

On 2 June 2026, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Austria Hemra Amannazarov and Director General of UNIDO Gerd Müller.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNIDO in the areas of sustainable industrial development, economic diversification, the introduction of innovative technologies, and capacity building.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects aimed at promoting green industry, enhancing industrial competitiveness, and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan underscored the country's consistent commitment to sustainable economic growth and the modernization of its industrial sector in line with international standards. In this regard, the importance of UNIDO’s support in advancing national industrial development initiatives and expanding international cooperation was highlighted.

The Director General of UNIDO reaffirmed the Organization’s interest in further strengthening cooperation with Turkmenistan and expressed readiness to expand partnership in priority areas of mutual interest.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to further developing constructive cooperation and exploring new opportunities for joint projects aimed at promoting innovation, sustainable development, and economic prosperity.
