Ambassador of Turkmenistan Participated in Ceremonial Events Marking Portugal Day, Camões Day and the Day of Portuguese Communities
On 9–10 June 2026, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the French Republic and the Portuguese Republic M. Charyyev participated in the state events dedicated to Portugal Day, Camões Day and the Day of Portuguese Communities, held on Terceira Island (Azores).
Within the framework of the official programme, the head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission took part in the ceremony of greeting the diplomatic corps by the President of the Portuguese Republic, the solemn military ceremony with the participation of the Portuguese Armed Forces, as well as a number of other events organized on the occasion of the national holiday.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, together with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Portuguese Republic, greeted the President of the Portuguese Republic, António José Seguro, and conveyed to him congratulations on the national holiday on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, along with sincere wishes of peace, well-being and prosperity to the friendly people of Portugal.
On the sidelines of the festive events, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan held meetings with representatives of the diplomatic corps and officials of the Portuguese Republic. During the meetings, the parties exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and discussed prospects for the further development of bilateral cooperation.
The participation of the Turkmen side in these events became further confirmation of the friendly nature of Turkmen-Portuguese relations and the desire to further develop bilateral cooperation.
