Round Table Dedicated to the Meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty Held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad

On 10 September 2026, a round table dedicated to the upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan. The event was attended by a delegation of the Youth Parliament of Pakistan headed by its President, Ubaid Ur Rehman Qureshi.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the significance of the upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, scheduled for 23 September. It was noted that the forthcoming meeting will constitute an important socio-political event aimed at reviewing the results achieved and identifying priority areas for the country's further socio-economic development.

Particular attention was paid to the significance of the meeting in the context of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of Turkmenistan, as well as to the country's achievements over the years of independent development and the tasks ahead.

The sides also highlighted the importance of the international initiative of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to proclaim 2028 the Year of International Law. It was emphasized that the relevant resolution of the United Nations General Assembly was adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan with 78 co-sponsors.

Representatives of the Youth Parliament of Pakistan highly appreciated the peaceful and constructive foreign policy of Turkmenistan, based on the principles of permanent neutrality, mutual respect and good-neighborliness.

Following the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to further develop cooperation between the youth and parliamentary structures of the two countries, expand the exchange of experience, and promote joint events aimed at further strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
