International Scientific and Practical Conference Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence Held in Dushanbe

On 21 September 2026, an international scientific and practical conference entitled “The 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence: New Horizons of Turkmen-Tajik Friendship and Deepened Strategic Partnership” was held in Dushanbe.

The event was jointly organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan and the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The conference was attended by representatives of state bodies, scientific and educational institutions, the diplomatic corps, public organizations and mass media, as well as experts and specialists from the two countries.

During the conference, an exchange of views was held on current issues and prospective areas of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the development of interaction in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, scientific and educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The participants emphasized the importance of the traditional relations of friendship and good-neighborliness between the peoples of the two countries, as well as regular intergovernmental dialogue and contacts at various levels in further strengthening the strategic partnership.

As part of the event, the Embassy of Turkmenistan organized a thematic exhibition featuring book and photo displays. The book exhibition presented works by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as publications dedicated to the history, culture and achievements of modern Turkmenistan.

Particular interest was generated by the photo exhibition dedicated to Akhal-Teke horses, the national heritage and pride of the Turkmen people.
