Horizons for Cooperation in the Field of AI: Turkmenistan Represented at the International Forum Kazan Digital Week – 2026

From October 29 to 31, 2026, the international forum Kazan Digital Week – 2026 is taking place in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. The Turkmen delegation is led by Berdimyrat Berdiyev, Deputy Minister of Communications of Turkmenistan.

The event, held at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center, has brought together over 20,000 participants from 76 countries. The forum is attended by government and public figures, representatives from the business and scientific communities, and developers of digital technologies.

The central theme of this year’s forum is the practical application of artificial intelligence. Participants are discussing the development of the digital industry, cybersecurity, and the implementation of digital solutions across sectors such as manufacturing, public administration, healthcare, education, and agriculture.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the international forum, B.Berdyev drew the participants’ attention to the large-scale State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy currently being implemented in Turkmenistan. The country is actively shaping its own digital agenda and aims to serve as a reliable digital bridge at the crossroads of key transit routes – connecting East and West, North and South.

It was noted that work on implementing AI solutions is underway in both the public and social sectors. For instance, adaptive learning systems and algorithms for the early diagnosis of diseases are being introduced in education and healthcare, while systems for crop yield forecasting and the intelligent management of transport flows are being launched in the economic sphere.

The head of the Turkmen delegation emphasized that Arkadag has become an exemplary model of a «smart» and environmentally sustainable city. Its infrastructure is built entirely upon advanced ICT solutions and «green» technologies. Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence technologies have been integrated into a unified platform for urban management and security.

An exhibition of technological developments served as one of the central venues for the Kazan Digital Week 2026 international forum. It showcased digital solutions from government organizations, major companies, and tech startups.
