On February13, 2023, the meeting was held between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Georgia Mr. Dovletmyrat Muratov and President of Georgian National Academy of Science Mr. Giorgi Kvesitadze.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further cooperation and holding joint events that contribute to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties and friendship between the two countries and peoples.
The sides also noted that the Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier between the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Georgian National Academy of Science facilitated the establishment of direct contacts between scientists of the two countries, as well as the intensive development and deepening of scientific cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Muratov noted that Turkmenistan would celebrate the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet-philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy in 2024. He also stressed that Turkmenistan is already actively preparing for the celebration of this momentous event. The activities scheduled for the upcoming anniversary will contribute to the further study and wide popularization of the richest literary heritage of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy in the world.
In turn, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia G. Kvesitadze expressed readiness for further cooperation and confidence that traditionally friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries will continue to develop actively, and serve for the benefit of our peoples.
