On February 28, 2023, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad with the Delegation led by Sheikh Muhammad Ibrahim, Executive Committee member and Convener of the Standing Committee on Diplomatic Missions of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the meeting, the development of Turkmen-Pakistan bilateral trade and economic cooperation were discussed.
Guests were briefed about the policy of the President of Turkmenistan on the further development of the country's economy and attracting foreign investment to the country.
For the information of the Pakistan side, a presentation was made about the new modern administrative center of Ahal province - Arkadag city, which is being built on the initiative of Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It was particularly noted that the buildings, houses, and roads in Arkadag city were built based on the "smart" city concept.
Highly valuing the infrastructures, being built in accordance with the modern urbanization system and comfortable conditions for its residents, the Pakistani side emphasized that Arkadag city will be a model city at the international level.
The parties also agreed to hold joint events throughout the year in order to develop cooperation in trade, investment, and business.
