On February 27 of this year, with the assistance of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Turkmen Cultural Center and the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan in Nukus city, a solemn event was held dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan and the celebration of the 300th anniversary of birth of the Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
The solemn event began with a tour of the State Museum of the History and Culture of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the inspection of the historical and cultural expositions of the Karakalpak people, as well as a visit to the exhibition organized by the cultural centers of the Turkmen, Kazakh, Korean, Ukrainian and Russian peoples in the Karakalpak State Academic Music Theater named after Berdaha.
The event was attended by representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, deputies of the Supreme Council, representatives of ministries and state agencies, as well as the public. The introductory speech was made by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan R.Nurazizov.
The representative of the Turkmen Embassy in Uzbekistan in his speech paid special attention to the development and strengthening of interstate ties between two fraternal countries.
Participants of the solemn event emphasized that in recent years Turkmen-Uzbek relations have reached a high level.
After the end of the solemn part, the artists of the Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theater named after Berdah performed the works of Magtymguly Fragi, Alisher Novai and Berdach. Songs were sounded in Turkmen, Uzbek, Karakalpak languages.
