On March 29, 2023 Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan Ya.Mamedov met with the Deputy Director of the Cinematography Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Rizaev.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the possibilities of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation in the field of cinematography and discussed the idea of holding the Film Days of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan in May 2023. The Uzbek side supported this initiative and announced the desirability of holding it in the city of Ashgabat and the centers of the Turkmen-Uzbek border regions with the participation of Uzbek filmmakers and famous artists.
The Turkmen side was invited to the 15th Tashkent Film Festival in September 2023, which also plans to hold days of cinema of Turkmenistan.
In the context of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen philosopher-poet Magtymguly Fragi in 2024, the possibility of creating documentaries and feature films about the life and work of the Turkmen classic as discussed.
In addition, the Turkmen side provided information on the construction of the city of Arkadag and invited the Uzbek side to take part in the opening ceremony of this mega-project.
