On April 28, 2023, a round table on youth policy was held in the building of Soka University on the occasion of the “Year of Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar”.
The round table was attended by the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan J.Gurbangeldiyev, the president of Soka University M.Suzuki, professors, representatives of the embassy, Turkmen students studying in Japan.
Speakers during the meeting noted that ample opportunities have been created for the Turkmen youth to fully participate in the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of reforms in Turkmenistan. In addition, the Japanese side stressed that it highly appreciates the efforts of Turkmenistan aimed at developing international cooperation, which are the result of the state youth policy.
During the visit of the rector J.Gurbangeldiyev to Japan meetings were held with the President of Soka University M.Suzuki, Director General of the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) T.Ichikawa and the Head of the Department of the Central and East Asia, Caucasus countries of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) M.Hirosawa, Head of the Human Development Division, Coordinator of Higher Education Institutions of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) D.Ueda.
During the meetings, promising areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of higher education were discussed.
Also, the rector of the IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan visited the observatory of the Tokyo municipality, during which they got acquainted with the activities of the Japanese capital in the scientific and educational field. The Turkmen side invited representatives of the Tokyo municipality to the upcoming opening ceremony of the "smart city" Arkadag in Turkmenistan.
