On November 26, in the second half of the day, a high-level side event "The implementation of the SDGs in Turkmenistan: the structure and foundation of bilateral cooperation in the framework of the implementation of Agenda 2030" had been held within the framework of the Global Conference on Sustainable Transport.
This event was attended by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and representatives of international organizations, heads of the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, heads of diplomatic missions and representations of international organizations working in Turkmenistan, the employees of the diplomatic service of Turkmenistan, teachers and students of higher educational institutions, representatives of public organizations our country.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, in his speech, noting the importance of the UN resolution on the role of transport and transit corridors in international cooperation, which was initiated by Turkmenistan, had stressed the importance of building roads in remote places, and progress in this field of energy efficient and environmentally friendly technologies.
Speaking at the meeting, the representatives of Turkmenistan in their presentations stood in favor of the continuation of a constructive international dialogue on the problems of the SDGs and expressed their willingness to continue to the very broad and active cooperation on this issue with Member States and international organizations, specialized UN agencies and organizations.
