On December 19, 2016, a round table on the topic "Freedom of religion and religious organizations" has been held at the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Adalat (Justice) of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan.
The round table was attended by heads and representatives of the abovementioned ministries, the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of religious organizations, acting in Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Adalat (Justice) and the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights acquainted the present with the work which is being done in Turkmenistan to create conditions for providing the rights of citizens for freedom of religion, the laws on the regulation of the activities of religious organizations and the laws in the field of freedom of religion. Then, during the discussions of the issues related to ensuring the rights of citizens to freedom of religion, it was noted that Turkmenistan religious freedom is regarded as one of the important area of ensuring human rights.
The round table had been held in the form of open exchange of views, opinions and questions.
