Day of German Economy in Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat

               On December 1, 2016, the Day of the German economy started in Ashgabat, within the framework of which the business forum was held. It was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Representation office of the German Economy in Central Asia.

The meeting was attended by heads of government agencies, government organizations for the development of the German business and about 70 largest companies. Among them: «Robert Bosch», «Wilhelm Layher GmbH & CO.KG», «MC Bauchemie Müller GmbH & Co.KG», «Trubatec GmbH», «Germany Trade and Invest», «Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung» and etc. The Turkmen side was represented by the representatives of the ministries and departments, state and joint-stock commercial banks, Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs.

On the agenda of the meeting, held in our country for the sixth time, it was included the issues of strengthening the bilateral cooperation, introduction of high technologies, best practices and innovations into various sectors of the national economy, strengthening the ties for training specialists and the prospects for implementation of new joint projects.

In his welcoming speech, the plenipotentiary representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany for Southern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Mr. Andreas Peschke said that long-term bilateral cooperation received a new qualitative content in recent years. As the guest underlined, Germany appreciates the policy of "open doors" of Turkmenistan carried out under the supervision of the Turkmen leader.

The developing trade and economic ties are the evidence of the high level of the relations between our countries. Thus, in 2015 the volume of mutual trade turnover amounted to 306 million dollars. 29 economic entities of Germany have their subsidiaries and representative offices in Turkmenistan. 169 joint projects had been realized with the participation of German companies.

Plans for further cooperation were specified in the course of bilateral meetings between the heads of government agencies and companies of Germany with representatives of ministries, agencies and the private sector of Turkmenistan.

Summing up the Day of the German economy, participants noted that the meeting provided an opportunity to identify new areas of interstate cooperation and once again demonstrated a serious attitude of the business circles of the two countries to the bilateral cooperation.
