On December 3-4, 2016 the 6th Ministerial Conference of the participating countries of the Istanbul process "Heart of Asia" on the problems of the Afghan settlement took place in the Indian city of Amritsar.
The conference was attended by 45 delegations from around the world. They were representatives of 14 countries participating in the Istanbul process on the settlement in Afghanistan (Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, UAE, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan). Also, the conference was attended by representatives of the countries that support the process, including the EU countries, US, UK, Japan, as well as delegations from a number of international and regional organizations.
The head of the delegation of Turkmenistan in his speech informed the participants about state policy and foreign policy initiatives of Turkmenistan on the establishment of peace and stability in Afghanistan, to join efforts in the fight against drug trafficking, terrorism and extremism, to create the necessary conditions for the successful social and economic development of the country.
