On December 6, 2016 the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions of the Federal Republic of Germany, the French Republic, the Italian Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, as well as the OSCE Centre, representative of the UN Development Programme and UNICEF visited an educational institution for minors in Mary province of Turkmenistan.
The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the activities of the institution, its material and technical base and the conditions of stay of minors.
As is known, one of the important directions of the state policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan is further strengthening the legislative foundations of the state, the development of law enforcement practice. In this context, the Government of Turkmenistan for many years in close cooperation with international organizations of humanitarian orientation carried out a complex of measures aimed at strengthening the country's legal capacity, including such areas as the improvement of the penitentiary system.
