On May 15, 2019, within the framework of the XIV Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the ceremony of presenting the main humanitarian prize of the CIS - "Stars of the Commonwealth" was held.
For achievements in the field of art, science and education, eleven scientists and cultural figures became its laureates. The Commonwealth Prize was presented to the representative of Turkmenistan - the people's artist of the country, opera singer Atageldi Garyagdyev.
"Stars of the Commonwealth" Prize was established in 2009 by the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation and the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States (IFHC). It is annually awarded to the representatives of the CIS countries for the most significant successes in the field of humanitarian activities, corresponding to the level of world achievements and contributing to the development of each of the CIS countries and the Commonwealth as a whole.
The prestige and significance of the award is evidenced by the names and achievements of its winners. In the eight years of its existence, the award has been awarded to many doctors, artists and cultural workers, as well as other prominent scientists from the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
