On June 16, 2019, a solemn opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Iran was held at the Cultural Center of Tehran “Talare-Vahdat”.
The opening ceremony and a concert of cultural and art figures of Turkmenistan were attended by the members of the official delegation of Turkmenistan, leaders and representatives of the Organization for Culture and Islamic Relations of Iran and other organizations, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Iran, members of the Turkmen Diaspora and representatives of the country's media.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Head of the Organization for Culture and Islamic Relations of Iran Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman and the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan A. Shamuradov delivered welcoming speeches and wished success to the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan and called for active participation in the planned events.
At the end of the solemn part, the participants moved to the Cultural Center of Tehran "Haneye Honarmandan". The grand opening of the Exhibition of arts and crafts, Turkmen musical instruments and museum valuables of Turkmenistan was organized here. This exhibition will run until June 18 inclusive.
After the opening of the exhibition, in the afternoon, the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan met with the Minister of Culture and Islamic Orientation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Salehi. During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of further expanding cooperation in the field of culture.
As part of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan, which will last until June 18, a book exhibition and presentation of books by the distinguished President of Turkmenistan at the National Library of Tehran, a meeting in the form of a round table, which will be attended by museum workers, art workers, craftsmen and historians of the two countries, a show of Turkmen films, a concert of masters of culture and arts of Turkmenistan and, as a final event, a large friendly concert with the participation of cultural figures of the two countries are planned.
