On January 24, 2017 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan Mr. Farrukh Homiddin Sharifzoda.
At the beginning of the meeting the Ambassador presented copies of his credentials. During the meeting it was noted that in the framework of expansion of relations of good-neighborliness and cooperation with Central Asian states, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian relations with the Republic of Tajikistan. Bilateral ties and multilateral contacts between the two countries within international organizations are dynamically developing.
It was also stressed that meaningful and effective Turkmen-Tajik intergovernmental dialogue is largely due to the huge attention from the leaders of the two friendly countries whose mutual visits are regular and productive.
Noting the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries in various areas, the Ambassador stated that as the authorized representative of his country in Turkmenistan, he will make all efforts for the further development and strengthening of mutual relations and cooperation between the two countries.
