On July 25, 2019, the first issue of the Turkmen-Astrakhan information bulletin “Khazar” has been published with the support of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) together with the Government of the Astrakhan Region.
The first issue of the newsletter reveals the main priorities of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation on the Caspian Sea, including the joint implementation of the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to hold the First Caspian Economic Forum (PCEF) on August 11-12, 2019 in Turkmenbashi.
It should be noted that the delegation of the Astrakhan region headed by the acting governor of the region I. Babushkin plans to take an active part in this forum, and as the result of which it is expected to sign relevant documents with the Turkmen side. In addition, on August 11, 2019, the first meeting of the Turkmen-Astrakhan Council for Entrepreneurship, created during the 11th meeting of the Turkmen-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, will be held in Turkmenbashi.
At the same time, Turkmenistan and Astrakhan region continue to develop friendly and good-neighborly humanitarian ties, vivid examples of which are the participation of Astrakhan schoolchildren at the 2nd Caspian Sea Culture and Sports Festival held in October 2018, as well as a joint Turkmen-Russian concert dedicated to the 295th anniversary of the birth of the famous Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi which was held in June 2019 in Astrakhan.
