On October 30, 2019, Turkmen-Danish political consultations on the level of the deputy chiefs of the external policy agencies of Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Denmark were held in the premises of the MFA of Denmark. The Danish delegation was led by the Under Secretary for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Ms.Lisbet Zilmer Johns.
During the talks, the parties discussed the state of affairs and prospects of development of mutually beneficial Turkmen-Danish relations on the whole range of cooperation. The diplomats particularly viewed the regional and international agenda, cooperation of the two countries in the framework of respected international organizations, primarily the UN, EU and OSCE. The parties noted the special significance of expanding collaboration between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Denmark in political-diplomatic, financial-banking and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The same day, the meeting of the delegation of Turkmenistan with the leading representatives of the Confederation of Danish Industry (CDI) and a number of companies which are the members of CDI, such as the export-credit agency “Eksport Kredit Fonden” (EKF), “Investment Fund for Developing Countries” (IFU), “AVK International A/S,” “FLSmidth A/S,” “FURUNO DANMARK A/S” and others were held in the premises of the CDI.
During the constructive talks, the parties discussed the opportunities for establishing contacts between the business societies of two countries, as well as the prospects of business activities of Danish companies in Turkmenistan.
The economic situation and investment climate in Turkmenistan, opportunities of financing the Danish exports to our country and funding the projects in participation of Danish capital became yet another subject for consideration. The parties also noted the feasibility of establishing direct contacts between the Confederation of Danish Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
