On the 6th of February, 2017 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’ Republic of Bangladesh in Turkmenistan (with the residence in Tehran) Mr.Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan, who arrived to Ashgabat on a working visit.
During the negotiations the issues of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh have been discussed in the political, economic and cultural fields. The parties paid special attention to the preparation of the next round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
When discussing the agenda of the consultations, the sides expressed interest in developing cooperation in the fields of electric power, transportation, and petrochemical industry. The parties emphasized that Turkmenistan and Bangladesh have all the opportunities for greater intensification of relations in the field of agriculture and the textile industry.
Having discussed the prospects of cultural cooperation, the parties noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Bangladesh.
