Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey were held in Ankara on February 23, 2017.
Delegation of Turkmenistan was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs V.Hajyev, the Turkish delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Ambassador Umit Yardim.
In accordance with the agenda of the consultations three sets of issues were considered: bilateral relations, regional issues, and multidimensional policy of the two states. The sides discussed issues of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in all fields, particularly in political and trade-economic spheres of interaction. In this regard, noting the high level of political and diplomatic partnership, the two sides exchanged views on the possibility of expanding the mutual cooperation in this direction. In this context, it was highlighted the important role of high level visits.
Speaking about the relations in trade and economic sphere, the sides discussed the possibilities of intensifying cooperation in this direction.
During the consultations, the sides exchanged views on international and regional issues, as well as on strengthening joint efforts to counter modern challenges and threats.
In the second half of the day, the delegation of Turkmenistan was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mr.Mevlüt Çavuşoglu.
