Today, on May 20, 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov held talks in the form of a video conference with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Manlio Di Stefano.
The heads of the Foreign Ministries reviewed the current situation and measures to counteract the spread of a new type of coronavirus - COVID-19. At the same time, the willingness to use the experience and interaction potential available in the asset of bilateral relations was emphasized.
During the negotiations, the parties also considered the implementation of previously reached agreements in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields. In this context, the significance of the visit of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Italian Republic in November 2019 was emphasized.
As is known, during the visit of the President of Turkmenistan, 37 bilateral documents were signed aimed at further expanding the Turkmen-Italian relations.
Diplomats also emphasized the importance of building the potential of the inter-MFA interaction between the two countries.
