On September 23, 2020, in the format of a video conference, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan V.Hajiev met with the representative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Turkmenistan N.Nadiradze.
At the beginning of the negotiations, N.Nadiradze congratulated the Turkmen side on the upcoming Independence Day of Turkmenistan, as well as on the 25th anniversary of the country's permanent Neutrality and expressed wishes for peace and prosperity to the people of Turkmenistan. In turn, V.Hajiev congratulated N.Nadiradze on her new appointment as USAID Representative in Turkmenistan and wished her success in this responsible post.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the US Agency for International Development and noted the need to bring them to a new level. The issues of the updated Roadmap for Turkmenistan for the 2021 financial year were discussed.
Also, proposals were voiced to develop partnerships with government agencies of Turkmenistan through the implementation of a number of joint projects.
Noting the interest of Turkmenistan in ensuring peace, stability and sustainable development in Central Asia and Afghanistan, as well as the country's existing positive experience, proposals were made to consolidate joint efforts in this direction within the framework of cooperation between the United States and the Central Asian countries "C5 + 1".
