Special editions have been published on the documents adopted during the presidency of Turkmenistan in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and at the Caspian summits

New printed editions were published under the title “Documents adopted during the presidency of Turkmenistan in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea” and “Collection of documents adopted at the Caspian Summits”.

Turkmenistan is an active member of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. In 2017-2019, our country acted as the Chairman of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. During this period, events of various levels were held, as a result of which the relevant documents were adopted. All this is clearly presented in the publication “Documents adopted during the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea”. For example, on April 12, 2018, the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly adopted the Resolution "Cooperation between the United Nations and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea", initiated by Turkmenistan and prepared in collaboration with the Republic of Belarus, Guinea, Germany, Kazakhstan, Canada, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. At the 85th meeting of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, held on May 28, 2019, the Resolution “Cooperation between the United Nations and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea” was adopted, initiated by the President of Turkmenistan, co-sponsored by 21 states.

In May 2021, within the framework of the regular session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), our country will provide a draft concept and structure of the future Special Program for the Aral Sea.

The second publication is devoted to the results of the Caspian summits. As is known, Turkmenistan is an active participant in the Caspian summits and the development of relevant documents. The basis for the holding of the Caspian summits was laid in Turkmenistan - in April 2002, the First Caspian Summit was held in Ashgabat. Let us recall that the Sixth Summit of the Heads of the Caspian states is to be held in Turkmenistan.

It should be noted that the publication of these editions is a reflection of the active role of Turkmenistan in regional structures.
