Today, on January 29, 2021, the meeting was held between the Minister of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Vidhu Peethambaran Nair.
The parties exchanged warm greetings and noted the importance of the current year that was declared by the relevant Resolution of the UN General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust, upon the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan.
It was stated that Turkmenistan and India are longstanding partners that are linked by historical and cultural ties. It was especially underlined that the relations between the two countries dynamically improve through the active dialog between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of India.
During the meeting, the efficiency of Turkmen-Indian relations in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres was highlighted. Special emphasis was made on joint projects in the area of energy, transport and healthcare.
Ambassador of India highly appraised the efforts of the leadership of Turkmenistan on the formation of international transport-transit routes and provision of global energy security. In this regard, the interest of India in the acceleration of the TAPI gas pipeline laying was reiterated that is expected to add to the development of economic collaboration in the regional and international dimension.
The parties exchanged views concerning the expansion of cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in various sectors of industry and construction engineering.
