On the 25th of March 2021, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Turkmenistan organized an online briefing entitled “The Peace Process of Afghanistan: Current State, Challenges and Solutions”.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev, Head of the Afghan Government’s Peace Negotiation Team Mohammed Masoom Stanekzai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Afghanistan to Turkmenistan Khan Wali Khan Basharmal, as well as the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Turkmenistan took part in the event.
During the briefing, an exchange of views took place concerning the current state and prospects of the peace process development in Afghanistan, as well as the role of the international community and regional countries in the consolidation of efforts and attainment of agreement on the peace talks’ agenda.
The participants of the briefing noted the active and constructive role of Turkmenistan in forming the pleasant conditions for the promotion of peace process in Afghanistan with the application of peacebuilding potential of our country as a neutral and neighboring state.
