On April 27, 2017, the VII session of the International Ahalteke Horse Association started in Ashgabat, under the chairmanship of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The forum was attended by members of the government, foreign and domestic members of the International Ahalteke Horse Association, workers in the horse breeding industry of the country, representatives of the media.
Annually, the results of the Association's work and long-term cooperation plans are considered at its meetings held on the eve of the Turkmen Horse Day. Such regular meetings of specialists contribute to the development of the main ways of partnership, fill it with content and enrich it with new joint projects, relevant ideas and business contacts.
During the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented state awards of Turkmenistan to a number of foreign members of the Association for a great personal contribution to the joint work - Blanka de Toledo Loma Osorio, Eloise Anemont Flavia Girardi, Bakturdi Ibadullaev.
The President congratulated the awardees, thanking them for their hard work to increase the glory of the Ahalteke horses, to increase their gene pool and wished everyone good health and new professional successes.
Then, the Regional Director for Central Asia of the International Epizootic Bureau (OIE), Kazimiras Lukauskas, presented President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with a certificate on the establishment in Turkmenistan of a zone free from horse diseases.
The Head of the State expressed gratitude to Mr. Lukauskas and in his person to the World Health Organization Animal Health Council for the delivery of a certificate confirming Turkmenistan's status as a zone free from horse diseases.
This certificate opens wide opportunities for carrying out equestrian games within the framework of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, the program of which, on the initiative of the Turkmen leader, includes competitions in horse racing.
Also during the meeting, the head of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), Ingmar De Vos, presented President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Cup and the FEI medal for his great contribution to the development of the equestrian sphere in Turkmenistan.
Expressing gratitude to the President of the International Equestrian Federation for participating in the events held on the occasion of the Turkmen Horse Day, the Turkmen leader said that he accepts this award as recognition of the merits of the entire Turkmen people, Turkmen horse breeders.
