On May 7, 2021, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi.
During the talk, the heads of external policy agencies discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to the implementation of the agreements reached during the telephone conversation of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, which took place on the 6th of May of present year.
The parties underlined the high importance of further development of traditionally friendly relations of strategic partnership between the two states and people.
Also, special attention was paid to the preparations and holding of the Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs “Central Asia – China” planned to take place on May 12, 2021 in the city of Xi’an.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs underlined that the Committee on Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the PRC working on four main vectors: trade, energy, security and culture, stands as an effective mechanism of interstate collaboration.
In this regard, the parties especially discussed the upcoming visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Cochairman of the abovementioned Committee to China for the exchange of views on the intensification of the bilateral economic, culture-humanitarian and other relations.
In the end of the conversation, the parties reiterated the necessity of strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and China.
