On May 11, 2017, the seventh session of the Joint Turkmen-German working group was held in the building of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan. A representative delegation headed by the Deputy Federal Minister of Economics and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. Eckhard Franz arrived in Ashgabat.
An interested exchange of views took place on the state and prospects of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, including in the oil and gas, chemical and energy sectors, construction, transport and communications.
The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached at the sixth meeting of the Joint working group, held in April 2016 in Berlin. The working group members expressed satisfaction with the current state of cooperation between the two countries and stressed the importance of permanent meetings at various levels in order to continue to deepen mutually beneficial relations.
The members of the working group discussed the further development of cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries, the legislative regulation of business activities, business forums, exhibitions, fairs and the Days of the Economy of Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Germany.
