On December 20, 2021, the regular Eleventh meeting of Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation was held in Ashgabat. The co-chair of the Commission from Turkmen side is the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ch.Gylydjov, and the co-chair from Kazakhstan side is Deputy Prime Minister R.Sklyar.
The agenda of the meeting which was attended by the heads and representatives of a number of ministries and agencies of the two countries, included a broad range of issues concerning the realization of the interstate agreements, as well as priority directions of further development of fruitful partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the current meeting the high level of interstate relations was stated, characterized by increasing dynamics and presence of enormous potential for further intensification in political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. In addition, the sides discussed the pace of implementation of the agreements reached as the result of the previous meetings of the Commission held in Nur-Sultan and Ashgabat.
Cooperation in oil and gas and transport-communication sectors is highlighted as priority direction of bilateral and multilateral interaction of the sides. In this context, the need of further intensification of effective partnership including in trade-economic, energy and transport-logistics spheres, in agriculture, in food and processing industry was expressed.
The sides also spoke in favor of deepening cultural and scientific-educational contacts and development of cooperation in the sphere of health protection and medicine, that act as the effective mechanism of diversification of mutually beneficial partnership.
Following the results of the Eleventh meeting of Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation the final Protocol was signed.
Bilateral meetings were also held on today’s Intergovernmental Commission platform between the heads and representatives of the ministries and agencies of the two countries. In the course of the productive meetings the need for further agreed actions taking into account the existing sanitary norms for deepening of trade-economic ties, increase of export-import operations and expansion of the range and volumes of supplied goods and services was noted.
