On April 8, 2022, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Expressing satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss topical issues of cooperation in a personal conversation, the Head of the Turkmen state first of all congratulated his colleague and, in his person, all the friendly people of Russia on the significant date - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
Noting with satisfaction that over the years a multifaceted interstate dialogue based on the principles of sincere friendship, trust and good neighborliness has been successfully developing in a wide range of areas, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed great gratitude to the Russian leader for his personal attention and all-round support, which play a special role in achieving great success in Turkmen-Russian relations.
As was noted, today our countries were fruitfully cooperating not only in a bilateral format, but also within the framework of international structures, as evidenced by the mutual support of important initiatives and proposals put forward from the stands of authoritative organizations of a global and regional scale.
During a telephone conversation, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics in the development of relations in trade-economic, energy, cultural-humanitarian and other fields.
Particular attention was paid to the topic of economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia, the successful development of which clearly demonstrates the steady growth of bilateral trade in recent years.
Emphasizing the importance of the planned visit to Ashgabat of the Government Delegation of the Russian Federation headed by Deputy Prime Minister A. Overchuk, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the upcoming exchange of views would serve to identify new areas of partnership and give an additional impetus to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation, noting in this regard the special role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation.
An important factor in the rapprochement of the peoples of the two neighboring states, the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between them, in the general opinion, is also the effective development of the Turkmen-Russian dialogue in the cultural, scientific and educational fields.
Expressing satisfaction with the active position of the Russian side in further strengthening productive ties between our countries, the Head of State confirmed the interest of Turkmenistan in strengthening and building up partnership with the Russian Federation, with which good traditions of friendship and constructive cooperation have historically developed.
At the end of the telephone conversation, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin once again exchanged mutual good wishes for well-being and further prosperity for the friendly peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia.
