On May 12, 2022, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Central Asian States and the Russian Federation.
Thanking for the opportunity to discuss topical issues of interstate cooperation in a personal conversation, the guest conveyed warm greetings to the Head of Turkmenistan from the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who addressed his Turkmen counterpart with the best wishes.
Thanking, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also addressed his best wishes to the top leadership and friendly people of the neighboring country, relations with which are built on a solid foundation of traditionally good neighborly relations and mutually beneficial partnership.
During the meeting, held in a businesslike, constructive manner, the current state and prospects for building up a productive Turkmen-Tajik dialogue, which has been successfully developing all these years both in a bilateral and multilateral format, primarily at the site of major international organizations and reputable regional structures, were discussed.
The sides also exchanged views on the topics of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the States of Central Asia and the Russian Federation, the agenda of which included the most important issues of further interaction between law-making structures to ensure the progressive development of multi-format cooperation.
Thanking for the high organization of the Forum and the warm and cordial welcome, the guest stressed that Tajikistan fully supports the active and constructive position of Turkmenistan in solving the urgent problems of the region and its initiatives that meet the goals of ensuring peace, security and sustainable development.
