On June 28, 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov met with the delegation of the Turkish Republic led by the Deputy Prime Minister Yildirim Tugrul Türkeş, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.
During the talks, the parties discussed topical issues of interstate cooperation, stressing the mutual interest in the further development of the established dialogue in the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. In this regard, the sides noted the high level of political and diplomatic partnership and exchanged views on the possibility of expanding mutually acceptable cooperation in this direction.
Concerning the cultural and humanitarian component of the relationship, the positive role of joint cultural events was noted, as well as the need to develop cooperation in the field of education, sport and tourism.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the interesting exchange of views on the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey and stressed the need for continued support of regular contacts at all levels.
